Classical Dance - Manipuri Dance.

Rasleela is the main part of Manipuri dance. This dance is performed by women and is a pure lasagna dance. It is an elegant and romantic dance with a delicate pace.

This dance is also known as Jagoi, it is a circular dance.

There is also a legend about the origin of Manipuri dance.

At one time Krishna was playing Raas in a big cave with the gopis. Shivaji was placed as a watchman at the entrance of the cave so that no one would be disturbed. During that time, while Mata Parvati was climbing there, she saw Rasleela and requested Shivaji to do such a dance with her. | Shivaji threw his trident and made a beautiful place to dance 'Rasleela' and this beautiful and captivating valley is called Manipur.

It is recognized that where Shiva-Parvati danced the Raslilana. Centuries later, Shivaji Raj Kumar Khambha and once more danced to Parvati as 'Thabi'. This dance came to be known as Laiharoba.

Which means 'joy of the deity' Laiharoba is soft, sweet, and calm. It is performed as a group dance. In which the feeling of Mars is mainly manifested for the yield and power of the Earth. People of the Shiva sect have been performing this dance since ancient times.

               There are important dances of Manipur. Raas - There are many types of dances. Such as the Maharas, Kunjaras, Vasantaras, Nityaras, Utkhalras, Sakhalaras. In which some rasas are done by men only. Some women do. While some dance together. All dance together on the occasion of religious festivals. Manipuri dance is an integral part of life. All urmio expresses emotion through dance. They are seen dancing at religious festivals, weddings, childbirth, and other occasions. Their life is soft, so a person who does not know dance has no appreciation. The costumes in Manipuri dance are attractive. One has to get up immediately to sit in this dance. And since the whirlpool is high, the dancer flies in the whirlpool in a half-white whirlpool of costumes. The dress consists of two small and large chisels, with a thick and hard canvas CV at the bottom of the chisel. It is further adorned with hard-forged white chaniya and transparent forged fabric like small RCOs at the edges. The dancer wears a deep silk blouse. Who has a border on his neck and arm? The artist playing Krishna wears a peacock feather crown and a dhoti. The jewelry mainly includes bracelets, bracelets, and various necklaces. And the verses sung in it are mainly of Jayadeva, Vidyapati, Chandidas, and Govindadas. And it is usually in Sanskrit, Maithili, and Bridge languages. Manipuri dance was first in the form of folk dances. Kavishri Rabindranath Tagore performed it as a classical dance with some appropriate changes in its technique.

The two great gurus of this dance are Atombassing and Amubising. And among the Gujarati artists who promoted this dance, it was Nayana, Darshana, Ranjana, Suvarna, Jhaveri, Four Sisters, and Savita Mehta. Due to the great efforts of Jhaveri Bahno, this dance has got a high status in the country and abroad. Apart from this, Bipin Singh, Suryamukhi, and Rita Chatterjee are the main performers of this dance.
