Anand Tandava : आनंद तांडव:

Once in a jungle called Targum, 10,000 sages were misleading people in the name of religion. Lord Shiva wanted to punish these sages, he enlisted the help of Lord Vishnu and disguised himself as a yogi and Lord Vishnu as his beautiful wife. Both started living in the Targum forest where the sage lived. The sages were confused when they saw Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu as husband and wife. He is convinced that Lord Shiva is hindering our activities. Therefore, they started trying to destroy Lord Shiva. He first produced a tiger to destroy Lord Shiva with the power of a mantra. It jumped on the tiger-like Lord Shiva and soon Lord Shiva tore his youngest finger with the nail of the Kannika and wrapped his skin around her body.

The Rishis then formed a serpent for the destruction of Lord Shiva. Who wrapped a snake around Lord Shiva's neck like an ornament. After that, Rishis sent many animals that were destroyed by Shiva, so one named Apasamra Surgeon of White.

After watching the Anand Tandava dance, Lord Vishnu was chanting at Sheshnag. Then the rest of the serpent felt the weight of Lord Vishnu. So Sheesh Nag asked her secret. Vishnu gave the reason for the dance of Lord Shiva. Sheshnag wanted to see this dance. The remaining Nagas practiced penance for years, treating their upper half body as human and half body as Nag. Lord Shiva then promised to do such a dance again in Chidambaram. There are currently two temples where Jaya Chidambaram is located. One of Kali and the other of Lord Shiva. Before Lord Shiva, his disciples expressed a desire to enter Kali's temple, but Kali forbade him from entering. Lord Shiva did a trick and proposed to Kali, "to organize a dance competition between the two of us. One who gets tired of the first dance competition must leave this village and its church." Kali was also an expert in dance so she accepted this instruction of Lord Shiva. The gods were invited as adjudicators of both contestants. The dance started. Shiva first displayed nine interests in dance. Kali copied him. Kali started imitating everything of Shiva, Lord Shiva slowly took off his clothes and started throwing. All of this was unfamiliar to Kali. Violating female boundaries became impossible. Finally, in the final plan, Lord Shiva lifted his right leg straight to the head. Kali was a woman. Unable to do so, he gave up and left the village and temple as planned. The name of this dance is Urdhwa Tandava.
